This is my Kill the Pen project. The aim of the project was to use an entire bic pen, and I used two! The image is of Aka Manto, a character in a Japanese myth. He stands outside public restrooms and asks of you want red or blue paper. If you tell him blue, he strangles you to death, and if you reply red he tears the skin off your back to let you bleed out. I learned how to shade with pen, and while I was really uneasy about it at first, it became really easy as the project went on. I hope to be able to make more pen drawings as they are fun and nerve racking. It's pretty close to the final piece I imagined.
